Do not say I depart tomorrow,
for even today I still arrive.

Look deeply: I arrive in every moment,
to be a bud on a branch,
to be a tiny bird with wings still fragile,
learning to sing in my new nest,
to be a caterpillar in the hearth of a flower,
to be jewel hiding itself in a stone.

I still arrive in order to laugh and to cry
in order to fear and to hope.
the rhythm of my heart is the birth and
death of all that are alive.

I am the may fly metamorphosing
on the surface of a river,
and I am the bird, which when spring comes,
arrives in time to eat the mayfly.

I am the frog, swimming happily
in the clear waters of my pond,
and I am the grass-snake who,
    approaching in silence,
    feeds itself on the frog.

I am the child in Uganda, all skin and bones,
my legs as thin as bamboo sticks,
and I am the arms merchant, selling deadly
    weapons to Uganda.

I am the 12 year old girl, refugee on a small boat,
who throws herself into the ocean
after being raped by a sea pirate,
and I am the pirate, my heart not yet capable
    of seeing and and loving.

I am a member of the politburo
with plenty of power in my hands,
and I am the man who has to pay his
“debt of blood” to my people,
dying slowly in a forced labor camp.

My joy is like spring so warm it makes
flowers bloom in all walks of life.
My pain like a river of tears, so full it
    fills up the four oceans.

Please call me by my true names,
so I can hear all my cries and my laughs at once,
So that I can see that my joy and my pain are one.

Please call me by my true names,
    so I can wake up,
that so the doors of my heart can be left open,
    the doors of compassion.

  2. This guy is my love
    How do I know that
Is it just because of his smile and face,
Think for a moment about love.....
Those times I have xperienced Love in my life,
    How did I feel?
They were times when I felt safe,
    Cared For,
    At peace with the world.
Is there any more sublime feeling than being totally, unconditionally loved?
In fact life and love are one.
How about the time I now feel love for this person?
It is because he LOVES me.
That's all right - he makes me feel good.
    Love is within me,
And it will flow out to this wonderful guy
If I do not block it.
This love within me is him.

    How do I know this?
Is it just because of his smile and beautiful face?
Or is there another way I can know it?

  6. May kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity pervade all dharma realms;

    May all beings from heaven and earth benefit from our blessings and friendship;

    May our ethical practice of Ch'an and Pure Land help us to realize equality and patience;

May we undertake the greatest vows with humility and gratitude."

  8. It would come as a surprise to many to know that the path that led to the liberation for the human being we know as Buddha came as a result of personal life failures and disappointments, not a lot different to what we experience now.

His investigations took place in a culture with a vast array of the theme of what is Truth.

But heart of the matter is not what is Truth – but what really matters.

Our love is showing us – as the Buddha found also - that there are only three things that really matter.

    The first is wisdom
    The second compassion
The third is purity of love and mind

This is what gives us maturity.

We have chosen a sometimes strange and difficult way of life.

But our love is pure, our heart choice of partner for life is wise, and our trust in the goodness of each other brings us into purity of love and mind.

Our way is right for us – and will make us happy.

    Forever

  9. Our Love says

I am the breeze that natures all things green
I encourage blossoms to flourish with ripening fruit
I am the rain coming from the heaven
That causes the grass to laugh
Our love is the joy of life

  12. This week we will arrive at a place in time
We will arrive at our meeting gate
We can choose to walk through the gate
    Or turn away
At the gate stands the gatekeeper
The Living Buddha – Living Christ
    Of our lives
We can ask the gate keep any question we choose
But the decision to walk through the gate
    Is ours alone.

I could not sleep thinking about you
So wrote this poem at 5am about this time
    In our lives
For you – the one I love.

    *
The Man At the Gate of The Year

    I said to the Man
Who stood at the Gate of theYear
    Give me a light
So that I can enter the gate
And walk safely in the Way
    He said to me:
    “Go into the Darkness
    And put your hand
In the hand of the one you love
    That shall be to you
    Safer than a Light
And better than a known way”.

    I walked through the gate
    Into the darkness
    And put my hand
In the hand of the one I love.
We had no need of a light or path
Our Love lit up the Way.
